G 35 Coupe Any One ??

I raced a G35 Coupe tonight. Put a couple cars on it from 2nd gear.

I hung side by side with a 350z from a first gear roll up thru the top of third (~90) in my stage 1 wagon(UTEC + Prodrive muffler) with a passanger in my car, it didn't seem very fast to me at all...I was expecting to get spanked...at the time I was running 16psi on 94 octane.

i raced a 350Z from a roll a couple times last year, and came out the victor.
by the way, the drive of the black Z was a beautiful platinum blonde which i had just introduced myself to a half hour earlier, and she was the one who propositioned me for the race, obviously underestimating the WRX .
anyways, we went from a 2nd gear roll 3 times at about 25 mph and i pulled a car length pretty steadily the first two times by the time we reached 65 mph or so. the third time she got smart (and cheated) and downshifted into first, giving her an immediate 1/2 car length jump, and she held onto it until about 65 or so. i think i switched back to factory boost for the third race, but its been a while since then.
my only mods at the time were intake silencer removal, samco hoses and a mbc i'm pretty sure. i expected 287 hp to be a bit harder to handle. maybe the girl driving it makes up for that, but i wouldnt know...

My girlfriend has a G35 auto and i have a WRX but i do have up/ and turboback with a MBC 15.5, If i can get her to race me i will but i think an manual will give me a better run.

I raced one from a stop. Beat him pretty easily, but I have yet to race one from a roll.

Anyways, back to the topic, sort of. I drove a friend's G35 and the butt dyno said it felt about as fast, if not faster, than my mostly stock wrx(just intake and catback). The power came on really smooth and it pulled hard. Stock vs stock, with 2 good drivers, from a roll, I think it would be a good match to 100 or so. The G would probly start to wave bye bye after that. It was fun to drive and it was a really nice car and all, but I wouldn't trade the urgency of a turbo for a NA, even with more (around 50?) HP. Just my .02

Agreed! Red coupe I see often and it is a head turner, I dunno if the exhaust is stock or not but it purrs a sweet tune as well.
