Saw a wicked fast SRT4 last night

We were at the local hangout in memphis last night, and a group from out of town met us there. There was a nice lookin red SRT-4 from alabama. When I saw it pull up I knew the owner would want to race the WRX, but I haven't exactly learned to drive it well in the 10 hours I had owned it. The car was owned by a girl, and she and her husband both raced it.

We decided to line it up with my bro's E46 M3 to see what it could do. First race was against the girl. M3 got the better launch, and he pulled about a car and held it all the way to over 100. That surprised the hell out of me, i expected the M3 to win but at least 3 cars.

2nd race: Her husband drove this time. Even off the launch this time, but then the SRT-4 pulled about a half a car through the same distance as the first race.

And SRT that is a driver's race with an M3. That is pretty scary for us WRX guys.

I talked to the guy afterwards, I know he had at least stage 1, turboback, bov, intake, and increased boost.

Not really a surprise in regards to your conclusions about the SRT-5 vs. a WRX. They are faster in a straight line and it's been well known. You can take them off the line up to around 80mph, but once you shift in to 4th, it's all over.

Turns out the SRT4 was also spraying a 30 shot to help spool up and was on DRs.

Yeah, kind of seems like cheating. I wouldn't mind giving it a try though, must be a good rush.

He didn't even tell us he had it until after the 2nd race, so i guess that is cheating.

I don't want to get into a big debate or anything, but there are those who like it and those who don't. To each their own.

    hey

Hey hipsi...your car sounds pretty sick! I live right here in Puyallup...about 10 minutes away from you. Your correct about the agp kits and hopefully i'll get one after I get my tax return. Agp is guessing 400-450 whp with the right mods...like more fuel and proper tuning. I can't wait! For $1700 ya can't beat it. Well maybe i'll see you around sometime.....

Traction def needs to be addressed with that much power! Bigger tires, lsd, mm, and stronger axles will be a must! Awd would also be nice!
