Yet another S4 encounter....

ok, so i'm driving along today and i notice a nice silver Audi behind me. I know it's either just an A4 or S4. he stays behind me as the road opens up into a 4 lane. I pass a pickup....he's still behind me. Now the road is totally clear and i'm in 4th gear, right around boost. Don't ask me why, but i didn't drop to 3rd, I just took off in 4th. The whole time he's right behind me, and eventually he swings over into the left lane. I see him gain maybe a few inches, but that's it. I shut down at 105, and i see the red S4 badge on the trunk as he drives by. I was VERY happy with the rex, because I didn't think it could hang as well as it did w/ an S4 from a roll.
I think i know who this guy is, hopefully i'll run into him again this summer
Much props to the S4 though, very very nice cars (and quick!)

I have a blast when going up against a WRX. It is so evenly matched. Most cars have trouble keeping up, it is nice to pull alongside such a worthy oponent.

i forgot to mention they're beautiful cars too.
if we started off side by side, he prob would have inched away from me. i can't wait till i get my exhaust!

Yep despite the past flaming wars, s4's are nice looking cars, and are just as fast as a wrx. I wonder what Audi's going to do about the next gen s4? That chassis is unbelievably heavy. They have to give it 300 plus HP for it to remain competitive.

Congrats..

Some guy on the S4 forum posted similar experience with a WRX wagon.

Both on freeway and neither cars managed to pull. However, the WRX was about 2 ft ahead of the S4 due to the uneven start on the highway.

yeah, i was about a car in front of him to start with, but he started to inch a little. i probably should have dropped it in 3rd to start. oh well, i really don't know if it would have made a difference anyway.
