Mustang GT & Me

Well I get off hwy 85 onto Indian Trail this morning coming to work. I see this black Mustange GT 5.0 ( 94-98 ) come quickly out of a gas station right after I pass him. He starts to gain on me since I'm off the gas. I'm about to make a right onto Oakbrook since I work off it and I slow down from 55-40 then shift into 2nd. Well about 15ft from the right turn the Mustang realizes that I'm NOT slowing down and it looks like he was surprised.

Well I see him jam on the brakes

while I hit the apex and dump on the gas out of the corner. Well the GT was 1 car behind me at the turn but 5+ cars behind me after the turn.

I did a quick 40-70 out of the corner. GT was WAY behind now.
Is everyone happy how that I posted a NON drag race against someone.

Needless to say Mushtangs can't handle the twisties like a WRX.

The '94 and '95 models have the 5.0 (and they have horzontal tail lights). The '96 and up come with the 4.6. '96-'98 have vertical tail lights with smooth edges. The '99s and up have vertical tail lights that are sharper and more "boxy" looking.

The '96-'98 models are a disgrace, slow as dogs.

I used to have a '92 notchback which ran 13.8's with just an exhaust. Those years ripped!

IMHO they are also one of the ugliest 'Stangs ever produced. The latest gen of Mustang on the other hand is a very handsome looking animal.

Yeah, that model definitely didn't look like a sports car, but since it was an LX model, the insurance rates were low compared to the GT. Mine looked pretty good, it was black, had a whale's tale wing, Flowmaster 3" exhaust, with Centerline rims and 245/60/16 tires.

i dig the latest gen too, but they're going WAY retro with the next body style. i'm a little nervous. think late 60's meets early 70s fastback.

my fav is still the '01 GT. i had a ton of fun ripping those tires to shreds with second gear chirps. hate ALL mustang interiors though. wtf? it doesn't have to be nice to be aesthetically pleasing! just make it normal!
