This is not my racing story, just something I saw this weekend. Crusing home about mid afternoon on Saturday, I am coming up to a red light. As I approach, two cars pass me quickly and one swings into my lane. There was plenty of roon, so it was no big deal. As I come to a stop I can hear them reving at each other through the open sun roof. I knew I was going to see a quick race. In the left lane was a later model 240SX with Aftermarket bodywork, big exhaust, etc. In the right lane was a lowered prelude with Dual exhaust (Go figure). They are both pretty loud, and I was thinking this should be enntertaining to watch. As the other lane's light turns yellow, I notice something leaking from the 240SX. As first I thought maybe he lost a radiator hose or something, then I dawns on me, he is spraying something (I Guess Water) from nozzles mounted just infront of his front wheels. It's spraying on both sides, so I guess he's covered no matter what side he starts on. When the light turns green, the Prelude looses all traction and the 240 just motors away from him, and I was dying laughing.
My guess is he rerouted his window washers down there. It's a pretty clever idea, if not plain sneaky. I just hope it's just water, leaving anything else on the road is just plain wrong.

HAHAHAH, oil slick! That is clever.
What is next, rocket launcher on the hood just incase someone is beating you?
Btw, that water trick will only work on FWD cars...![]()
Although that's really funny, it's also pretty ghetto and cheap as far as I'm concerned![]()
jk's right though...won't work on AWD cars![]()

Did I mention that the body work on the 240SX was blue, while the rest of the car was red?

that is so cool...hehehhehe
a real cheapshot, though, but funny indeed! now all he needs is another sprayer on the back wheels to get those RWD cars too

Do they spray water or traction compound like VHT Track Bite? I did this trick on my 68 cutlass, on the rear tires. Didn't work worth a dam. That stuff needed to soak in to work. I tried water, made for a great burn out but didn't help on the launch.
They don't.
I was in the Regal.
Ahh, makes sense now. I thought maybe Subaru added a sunroof as an option on the newer models. That is the one thing the car is missing that I like to have.Originally posted by mhoward1
