    Can i take a CLK 500 from a roll

Well i raced a clk 500 a while ago (some of you may have read the post) and i killed it till 120 ..like 4-5 car lengths. The reason for the bashing was the launch i think...

So the guy is talking **** again and wants to go from a 45 mph roll...can i take him?

    I got downpipe, mbc....thats it...catback coming soon

It's a tough call. He's making 300+ HP but weighs almost 4000 lbs. He's more aerodynamic too. But damn that's a heavy car. I think he might edge you out none-the-less.

If you're trapping above 100 mph, you might have a chance. At the very least, you probably need engine management. At your current level of mods, however, I think he has the edge.

I read this somewhere and you can tell your buddy:" Racing from a roll is like masturbation. You get the same result, but it still aint sex." Tell your buddy to go home with his rolling start.

Those cars were meant for highway cruising. I think he will have a much better chance at beating you, but you still might win. Just make sure when you take off that you are in boost or just before it.

the CLK500's curb weight is 3585 lbs, not almost 4000 lbs. You're thinking about the E500. Still on the heavy side for a compact coupe tho.

Once you get rolling, weight doesn't really matter anyway.

My aunt had a CLK430 and from a roll since its a V8 it will prob beat the WRX. She has since moved on to the CLK55 (bad ass) if i must say so and if launched right the WRX won't take it off the line. German cars in general have excellent mid range punch. Even the 184hp BMW 325i has great mid range although underpowered. But then again....ask to race when it snows, and go from a 45mph roll. See who grabs traction when you floor it!

I was looking at the CLK500 Cabriolet: 3905 lbs.
