Learn how to drive? LOL uhm.. mashing the pedal in 4th isn't too hard ya know.

    AVC-R @ 16.5 psi
    PDE up-pipe
    full tank of gas.

Modded intake/exhaust (as far as I could tell) RSX-S walked me in 4th a bunch of times. oh, and this was done at sea-level. (Yes, it does matter)

    It sure was fun though

    I was being sarcastic...
I assumed that you'd know I'd take turbo lag in account in our friendly races with mr RSX-S. So let me reiterate it:
Even with my turbo fully spooled, he'd walk away from me in 4th.

Anyways, they're both nice cars... I enjoy mine. If I get smoked at illegal speeds... yay, good for the winner.

I was cruising down 295S on the way to work a few months ago when I saw a new RSX. Got close...Type S. I rolled up next to him, real smooth at like 76mph. He finally looks over, downshifts and drops the hammer. At this point, my only mod was my Joe P. I had time to laugh, down shift (into 4th, not 3rd), and punch it. The RSX never got more than a car length away before I passed him effortlessly. Like GREDDY said, he was squinting to see my tail lights by 110mph.

Buy one WRX, add one $50 boost controller, be fast as hell.
Buy one RSX, add pretty much anything, still be slower than me.

Man, I gotta agree with platinum and greddy...when my WRX was stock I had 4 different runs against RSX-S ..3 of which were on the highway from 70 and up...it was no contest, rex pulled cleanly away from 3rd thru the top of 4th. the one stoplight race was a joke. Nice car but WRX blows it away in what matters most, performance ( not to mention modifying potential for the $ ).

I'll try to find out what was done to the RSX-S I ran with. If it was just intake/exhaust, then I'm quite impressed of the performance increase he got over a stock RSX-S.

I've driven my friend's bone stock RSX-S while he drove mine (at 15 psi) and we both agreed that mine felt a bit faster (course, butt dynos generally suck). We haven't run side by side yet though... Gotta try that soon

Sorry, not to be an ass, but with your mods, you should no way get walked in fourth. I raced an RSX s when I was stock (RSX S I/E though)

I pulled hard in 3rd (1 1/2-2 care lengths) and held him off in 4th to 110 ( he did not gain at all)

You must not be driving the car in its powerband. Or your car needs a tune up.

heh, no offense taken. I do know where the power band of the car is... it's at 2000 to 4000 rpms.

Just had it at the dealership for the 6000 km checkup. Everything checked out and the car seems to pull more or less strongly. Going to slap it on a dyno (Pruven or TurboXS) in July. I do taper the boost curve to starting at 5000 at 16.5 psi to 12 psi at 7000 rpms though. I could force the AVC-R to keep the boost higher, but I figure that the stock EBC did roll off the boost for a reason, to keep intake temps in check, so that it doesn't pull timing.

I'll fiddle around with it a bit more. but I doubt I could get more out of it.

Stock vs Stock, RSX S will win (given equal driver) 0-100+ mph race as C&D timed RSX S 0.3 sec faster to 0-100mph. Look at 1/4 trap speed... RSX is equal to or faster than WRX at around 95mph.

Modded vs Modded is a different story though....

    CAR: 0-60, 0-100, 0-120, 5-60, 1/4mile, skidpad, 70-0, wgt
    RSX: 6.3, 17.2, 28.1, 7.1, 14.9@95, 0.83, 196, 2760
    WRX: 5.8, 17.5, 28.2, n/a, 14.4@94, 0.83, 188, 3085
    330ci: 6.4, 17.1, 26.0, 6.9, 14.9@94, 0.83, 168, 3377

BMW 330ci's braking & top end power is amazing....

    Road & Track

I have the brand new issue of Road and Track in front of me and according to them:

    WRX 0-60=5.7, 0-100=16.0sec
    RSX-S 0-60=6.7, 0-100=18.0sec

I never know who to believe. It is the same with 0-60 times, C&D got a 5.4 for the WRX, has anyone ever gone that fast stock, that is like 14 flat in the quarter.

Has anyone out there tested a stock WRX accurately?

...well "believe none of what you read and half of what you see" although those numbers are closer to being representative, there are way too many variables involved to give concrete performance stats on ANY car. Bench racing with magazine stats is a excercise in futility. Every variable such as car/driver/engine/conditions/traction/temp/humidity can make stats vary wildly. In the real world, in most every case, a good driver in a WRX vs a RSX-S ...the WRX driver will hand the RSX its azz on a platter.
