    2004 WRX vs. 96 M3

One of my sort of friends...actually just a kid that I party with, just got a 96 BMW M3. I have no seen it yet, but Im about to go drive by his house and take a look and see if its a 5-speed. He used to have a 328i automatic. We raced once and I won, but I dont remember by how much.

Would it be a good idea to offer a race between us. I want him to really know whats up with a WRX, but I dont wanna get my ass kicked. I can drive now....just for all you guys that remember the whole grand am incident. I can really drive now, I promise.

    I have a stock 2004 WRX.

IF your a decent driver you will win from a stop. However from a roll for a stock wrx they can be trouble. It will depend on what mph you roll and what gear you are both in. I want to say when I was stock that I beat one but I think after 80 he was reeling me in......good luck

I think you are going to have to go out and find a Grand Am and beat to earn your dignity back. j/k I had problems taking on an accord when I first got my Rex.

Okay, Its an automatic. Also, I learned how to drive with that whole grand am thing. I have taken many pontiacs, bmws, is300s actually lots of cars. I got my ass kicked by a friends 2003 BMW M3 SMG, but I didnt expect to get very far.

I think I can drive just as well as anyopne else with a stock WRX.

yes, 96 e36 m3's were all manual. The only auto m3 coupe was in 95, and from 97 on they offered m3 sedans in auto. So either you or he is mistaken in thinking its a 96 auto m3.

I use to drive a 95 m3a and can say definitively that you should beat him if you are a decent driver. They aren't all that fast in the straights, but he'll have you in the twisty's tho. Even stock those e36 m3's are no joke when it comes to handling.
