yep. I agree. Only a select few cars have good topend...on my list are ls1s, supras, vipers, porsches, other exotics...Mustangs, WRXs, etc have limited topend potential unless you get into serious $$$

oh and no, a "slightly" (exhaust only) modded rsx wont even keep up with a stock wrx even an auto, at any speed.
Wrong. You act like the WRX is God's Gift, it lacks highend power.

Nope... Just that my stock tires are MUCH worse than my Yokos..

So I would have got toasted from a stop with my stocks and only slightly toasted with my other tires..

I think someone already asked, but where in the burbs are you from (Chicago)? We could probably find you a few mor Rexes to run, including myself.

I live in the northern burbs... and I am sure there are plenty more Rexes out there to run.

My brothers best friend has a sweet Rex... It is SUPER fast, he is always wanting to race me... but what is the point.. he would crush me.. (I think I will just stick to stock autos from a Roll! )

He also has his car set up for Autocross. Apperently he is VERY good.

Personally, I am not too terribly concerned about the outcome. I have only seen a couple RSX type S's in Racine and would like to see one go.

Sometimes I egg on much more powerful/faster cars, just to see them go. Im sure other do it too.

i know there are plenty of other faster cars, but ill restate, no rsxs with just a fart cannon is faster than a 2004 wrx (even auto).

I can't believe that guy said that Auto WRX's shouldn't race cuz they are too slow. Thats just a stupid thing to say. I want to see how he'll do against my Auto WRX after my UTEC and injectors go in. I think he'll change his tune.

I'm sorry, but my WRX's top end is pretty damn good! In fact, that is what my WRX has become good for these days with my 1820 turbo... Max power shows up at 6950 rpms, so it pays me to rev all the way past redline! It's now pretty docile on traffic, but I have my fun on the highways now

If you want top end, it costs major $$, but it is achievable.... Just get more WHP!

im sure having taller gears probably has an adverse affect when roll-racing in an automatic. The auto unit also sucks a little more power. I have a 5spd pretty stock... but from 2nd gear roll (50 or so) i still managed to walk away to 80 with no evidence of him holding ground... Granted i didnt blow his doors off, but the lack of torque probably hurt him, cause i brake boosted....
