I went to Searspoint last night and line up against a sedan Regal Buick. I ran 14.4 and he still smoked me! The bad thing was that it is an ugly looking thing!

I love those beasts.
Not a vehicle to be trifled with. They will surprise you. And very easy to mod to really respectable times.
Respectable times? Those things are flat f-ing SCARY! dead stock they pull 250hp, and that was in 1987! There is a video here that shows what a twin turbo Grand National can do. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
hahahhaha. Yea, some Buicks are NO JOKE!! It was probably a Regal t-type. Dont feel bad, he has a turbo too!

Some of the newer Buick Regals are supercharged, my friends parents have one and it went 14.8 bone stock. They make lots of parts for them too, listen for the whine of that supercharger!

My dad used to have a Buick Regal GS as his company car. It was supercharged and fairly quick. Big and heavy though, but I could see it being modded for some decent speed.
i have a regal gs and they can be made really fast, they got some daily drivers runnin 11s

HAHA the sleeper car burned you. I will one day own either a GN-X or a regal T type. Those cars are crazy quick and ugly as sin. It would be nothing to get one into the high 11's with decent traction. You have nothing to be ashamed of through (other then not knowing your muscle car history) good race...
*Off topic* Am I the only one that laughed one someone said "These cars put out 250 hp and that's in 87" I know that might be "alot" but there were other cars just around there. Heck a mustang was putting out 225 then.
And I dont think 14.8 is fast for a stock car...respectful yes but not fast....sorry been on my mustang site all night and it's a different breed of people....didnt mean to ruffle any feathers. CHEERS

I find it funny when guys get into cars and they think they have a fast (especially honda guys) car then they get smoked and they can't except it. I happen to think they look ****in cool. If Darth vader drove a car it would be a Grand National.
p.s. i have one. hehehe.
Grand Nationals are awesome and stock they did only have about 250hp or so but the torque was up there and with a computer upgrade it would get kinda crazy fast. I could be wrong but I think they were pretty light weight for their size also. There is a guy that has a black '87 (best year) at my local track and he just has a few mods 4.10 gears, computer, exhaust, intake with stock turbo and when he has his slicks on he can bring the front tires off the ground about an inch.
