Okay...WHATS A REAL 0-60 TIME and WHY DID I LOOSE TO MY FRIENDS GRAND AM??

I have a stock 2004 WRX 5-speed. How did I loose to my friends Grand AM!?!?!?(also stock) I got around an 8 second 0-60...i thought it was supposed to be faster. What is a real 0-60 time for a stock WRX...not the car and driver numbers...but a real time?!?!

5.4s is a real time assuming you don't suck as a driver. I guess w/a non-solid launch 6s.

The fact that a person out there, somewhere, has a grand am and thinks its faster than a WRX hurts me.

I agree you must have gotten a really bad launch. Rev up to 5k-6k RPM, dump that clutch and you will kick his ass.

I know....I lost to a grand am. I guess i just got a bad launch. What about racing from a roll?? How should i go about doing that??

What is the top speed of a 2004 5-speed?

What's the speed in 5th gear at half the redline rpm? Double it.

I've seen this car go to 140 mph no problem. It all just depends on how brave you are. I wouldn't do it myself if it is not in a controlled environment though.

Are you sure it was a Grand Am and not a Grand Prix? At least Grand Prixs have over 200 hp. Grand Am's have like 170 hp max the only way you should have lost is if you pushed on the brake pedal instead of the gas. From a roll you should kill a Grand Am.

I beat a GMC RWD truck with a 4.8L V8 (275HP) this weekend and we ran from a stop; I've got a stock '03 5-speed and I probably launched at 2500RPM because I don't like to beat on the tranny.

If you're having trouble with a Grand Am then you've got a driving issue, heh.

he and I are gonna have another race once I get my oil changed...I got a bad launch...and the turbo was not spoolin. It was laggin like a mother.

What about an automatic BMW 330ci...theres a kid a my school who wants to race me with one of those...on the highway??
