    Played with a golf 1.8t

I was rolling down highway 101 in the second to left lane and this VW cam screaming by my, it looked like a customized Golf, it had the 1.8t badge.

I wasn't going to mess with him, but after a second I pulled into the next lane over and busted out the acceleration.
He saw me go flying by and tried to follow me, good luck. I won't say how fast I was going, but I had a feeling he couldn't quite keep up ;-)

I guess this wasn't too much of a race, but it sure was fun.

I only have a MBC and BOV...

Can't blame the poor old Golf for trying though...

and RSXSucks, why would anyone want to buy your car after the way you put it down and all the bad things you said about it? C'mon...I know it's not a WRX but it's not a crappy car either.

Thanks for trying to make me feel better. I know there are crappier cars out there... but the RSX is no WRX, that's for sure!

A ricer flyby by definition is after you lose a race and the other guy slows down, you fly by him.

This guy was still going fast and tried to keep up but couldn't.

    Big difference.

Takes real big ones to fly by a car at Mach 80, and then to think you some how have some sort of moral victory(see quote). Excuse my ignorance for I did not know there was a Webster meaning for ricer fly by. By what you described it is and by what you did I don't see the BIG difference. The guys passed you and then you sped up and flew by him. BTW I said kinda like one

I didn't feel as though I had some "moral" victory. I was just playing with a lesser car. I don't care if it was from 60-100 or 0-60, the point is, he tried to keep up but couldn't.

Blah the 1.8T in stock form is a DOG! I'm kinda disappointed VW didnt put a little more into that engine it has potential. I was actually considering one till I did some more research and changed my mind.

It's pretty well known the 150 hp 1.8T is under-rated, compared to the VR6. Why? Even though many dynoes showed in stock "150 bhp" form, it makes more power than the VR6. By under-rating it, it does not cut into the sales of the VR6 too much.

One word which solves the problem:

    CHIP

Easy 50 bhp and still maintain a decent torque curve, and the best part is, go with a reputable brand, it's reliable and relatively inexpensive (about $400)
