Question 04 SRT getting an extra 15 hp

I just read that the 04 SRT will be getting an extra 15 hp for 04.
Is this true, or is Chrysler admitting that they underrated the cars HP?

I read in a local article they were going to use a much more potent turbo for 2004.

Not sure they are getting more HP, they might just be correcting the numbers to reflect what owners are getting atm. Since it's seems they are greatly underrated.

The 2004 SRT-4 will come std. with a LSD, Stage 1 injectors, and Stage 1 ECU but it won't be mapped for Stage 1. If you want to get Stage 1 mapping, the ECU needs to be flashed. The car will have more "true" horsepower than the 03, but also some paper change as well. The car was too underrated in 03 and ins. co. made a big stink about it.

The MSRP will $20,995, which is exactly $1,000 higher than the 03's. IMO, it is well worth it for the changes that were made. The same Quaiffe LSD is going to cost us 03 owners 1400 + install fees!! That does not sit well with some of us 03 owners at all!! The car has a sunroof available to it now and it also comes with racing pedals on it now!!

The latest SCC mag has an article about the powertrain.

"For 2004, injector flow rate has been bumped up 10 percent, leaving the headroom for better altitude and temperature compensation. .... With the new calibration, we've been told to expect about 5 hp more under our test conditions, and about 15 more in severe heat"

2004 now comes in blue, and yellow is being phased out (only 100 yellow 04 srt's are being built). We also get a sunroof option now, and a Quaife LSD is standard in all SRT's. We also now get BFG KDW2 205/50/17 tires instead of the pilot sports we had, and metal pedals.

Note, those rims are not what will come on the 04's, those are GT Turbo Crusier rims. 04's have the same rim as the 03's. This pic was taken at the local Detroit area SRT meet that PVO held. We got to check out a bunch of PVO's toys, and talk with the guys who built our car. How cool is that
