Geezus! I thought I was gonna DIE.
I live in the sticks, ya know the banjo player from 'Deliverence"? He makes fun of my location. Two lane road, school "traffic". I'm boppin along behind a F-350 dualie(the REAL way to make a statement with a vehicle in these parts) and I notice a large hauler heading my way in the other lane. He's carrying what seems to be the reminants of an old barn roof, most likely tin.
About 75 feet in front of me I see and HEAR the tin catch some air, lift fom the truck and fly towards ME. Its kinda got a trajectory heading towards the side of the road. I grit the teeth, hammer the brakes and give it all the steering input I feel safe with. Car squeals and wobbles in protest. Large slice of tin misses the windshield by about 5(10?) feet. Cars behind me are all over the brakes. No damage, no one hurt. Tin hauler gets a stern talking to from a few folks, I just said "tie it down better" and got home to check my shorts.
BTW...Carbotech pads+DBA's ........YOU STOP QUICKLY
