Hehe, what a tool. At least that board has some more enlightened members. A poorly driven WRX will still spank a stock 1.8T. Power loss shmower loss, the Rex drivetrain does suck some power but I think the advantage outweighs (haha...pun!) the apparent inefficiency. How else can a mild looking sedan run to 60mph in 5.4 seconds with a modestly powered turbo 4 cylinder?!?!

    Vive le AWD!

i posted over there. the wrx wasn't trying or was a 2.5rs. 150 to the crank in the vw or 165ish to the wheels of the wrx. simple answer.
    It's never fast enough.

    I call BS.
My friend at work drives a GTI (stock with the exception of rubber) and he knows as well as I do that the WRX will take him. Mind you, the 1.8T's can hold their own quite well from a roll.
The 1.8T in the post was an automatic, my friends car is a 5mt. I can't see the automatic being faster

An AWP 1.8T (180 hp) would probably have a fighting chance from a roll, but no way from a stop. Unless, of course, the WRX owner can't drive.

I call BS or circumstancial (it was probably a 2.5RS anyways). It could happen.. but it would have to be a HORRID driver behind the wheel of the Rex.. or they were just caught sleeping.

I never lost to 1.8t ever!
Even when I had my DSM. My friend's stock GTI vs my DSM FWD...
On a roll AND stop..I smoked him.
    Both stock.

When we were both semi modded...I let him have two cars first...
I still smoked him by 2 car length at 95mph.
That 1.8t guy is a lunchbox.

I think that was a 'shroom dream too, but I will say this....club1.8t.com is a pretty good group of entusiasts, kind of similar to clubwrx.net. 1.8t.com, 20vturbo.com and clubb5.com are all VW forums that started IMHO because VW vortex is a little uptight in their rules and lock threads at the drop of a hat.

HMMMMM do I know of any other car forums like that?
