It might be a owners board but it is open for anybody to add something. Besides I do own a Subaru still. Its just sitting in storage. I can make a comment on the US car market because I've been in it before and let's admit it there isn't alot of serious import cars there. How are we to read the article if it only goes right back to the starting page trying to sell us the magazine? I don't believe I was the one calling others the idiot or immature so maybe you should do the same thing.

Do you subscribe to the mag cause when I try it no article ever comes up. It goes back to the same list of issues for sale. Either way both cars are more then capable and the whole prospect of which is better will be talked about hopefully for some time to come unless the new emissions laws in Japan due out this summer kill off more sports cars.

that's weird. i clicked the link, scolled down to twin test cover and clicked it and it worked fine on my end. I don't subscribe to it or any other magazine as they are dependant on sponsorship and give ratings accordingly

If we had an EVO VI in North America(without having to special order), I would probably have that on top of my list. Truth is, I love both EVO and Impreza. However, there are a few things influencing me to buy a prepped WRX over the EVO VII. First being that there is a strong shop where I live(Quebec) specialising in Subaru and all their workers rally. They are working with me to build a car up to spec. Mitsubishi is not even in Canada yet(coming earlier than originally announced, September 2002 now)...which is all fine and dandy, but I won't have the same service as I do now.
RNN, the STi does have the electro hydro differential to let you pull the handbrake, but the standard WRX doesn't. And yes, I like the RS and Extreme models as well....anyone saying that Subaru is better yada yada is obviously off on the moon. Fact is, both cars can be prepped well and most often, the inferiority is the object sitting behind the steering wheel.
Btw, officially announced by Mitsubishi, the EVO will come in January of 2003 and will start at under $30k US(which is all very fishy, as US pricing usually leave out a bunch of goodies-performance wise, I could care less about stereo and such). It's a pity however, that there is practically no chance of Ralliart versions in North America on a mass scale.

Just read the new car and driver (or was it road and track? can't remember.) The new Evo 7 that is coming to the US will only have 250hp due to intercooler changes ( I guess to meet the strict US front bumper test.) I don't think Mitsu is going to charge more then 28-29 grand for it, considering 350Z and Rx-8 is going to be around the same price range.

Even at the same price of the 350Z it'd be quite expensive...Oddly enough, many new cars sell for less in Canada than in US(remember, price goes by cost of living and averages among population). However, the new Z is starting at $45k CDN for the performance and about the same for Touring while the race will sell for $46k CDN. In Canada, most of our cars come already packaged with goods or options are in packages unlike US where prices are differentiated a lot more. The WRX has a Canadian MSRP of $35k. So having said that, if the EVO does sell for the same price as 350Z, I think I'd want to stay Suby....not that the Mitsubishi has an unjustified $10k hike up but as I said, Subaru would have more service for the time being.
