    Raced a fellow WRX

It happened the other night on the way home from playing basketball. I was on the highway when I saw headlights approaching from behind. I thought it might be a WRX since I also saw the foglights, but I had been wrong many times before. Well this time it turned out to be a WRX. I was going about 70mph when he came up beside me. He gave me a wave and I gave one back and then I downshifted to 3rd. I hit the gas very quickly a couple times so my BOV would sound to let him know I wanted to go. I waited for him to get on it first and then when I knew he did I got on it too. I pulled 4-5 carlengths immediately then shifted to 4th, pulled a couple more then shut down. I slowed down to give him the thumbs up on a good race but he would not come back next to me. When he finally did after I slowed way down, he wouldn't even look over at me. Oh well, he just must have been upset because he lost or something, even though he had nothing to be upset about since I'm pretty sure he was stock since I beat him by so much. Just thought I'd share the story with you.

Or maybe he was thinking what a waste of time it was to catch up to you to give a friendly wave and then have you play speed racer on him.

true, maybe he wasn't aware that it was a race.

How would he have not known it was a race since I let him go first? I waited until my front bumper was at his rear to start.

Well considering he caught you from behind, then slowed down to wave I bet he was just cruising on the highway faster than you and was going on his merry way. Anyways, don't mean to sound like an ass I just think he was a friendly WRX driver that wasn't looking for a race. I don't nor will I ever race a WRX unless I talk to them beforehand, but that's just me <shrug> Seems kind of pointless and it just comes down to who spent more on mods, especially when it's from a highway roll. It's not like there's a lot of driving skill involved on highway races.

I think I would have been a little irritated had I taken the time to slow down on the highway and wave to a fellow WRXer and they start reving and purging their BoV at me. Please don't take this as an insult The one, just letting you know what my perspective would have been.

Hate to say it, but I think Ike is right on this one. One thing is for sure, alot of wrx drivers around Toledo Ohio are *******s, they don't even wave if they see another one. It's embarrassing. I feel like a drive a prick's car the way they act. Maybe they are just in shock that they see a black man behind the wheel. I think they're hatin. In Detroit they're the exact opposite. Man what a culture difference.
