For me 1/4 is important. I only race to under 80 on the hwy, 60 on
local street. To go over 100 on the hyw or local street racing is plain
bad new. Read what dedabi wrote after the guy doing a 100 and killed
2 ppl in NY, he got murder 2.

When I get to Limerock then I will race them mod 325s, M3, A4, S4 to
what ever speed the straight allow legally. Shooting for summer
2003. My baby only got 2500 miles on it
What mods, dude this baby is stock

Played around with an S4 on the Parkway in NJ today. He was definately tuned with all sorts of goodies. Moral of the story, don't race an S4 at speed, we got nothing on em.

Anyhow, I saw an unmarked trooper pull out after you a couple of miles down the road.. Sorry dude, my fault, I egged ya on. You should have slowed when I did.

    Cool

This is a cool thread. I'm an ex-S4 owner who traded in his S4 for a WRX. Most S4 owner's are ok. People (especially the M3 owners) would always start posing on me.

To be honest the cars are pretty different. I'm a trained driver, so I've pushed both cars after break-in (S4 has no break-in). The S4 is an Autobaun monster (like the whole S series). It doesn't handle anywhere near as well as the WRX, trust me. The weight difference is pretty significant. The launch character is about the same. The S4 is a bit more forgiving on the launch though, max torque hits a 2500 RPM. But you can adjust for that. The top end in the Audi is better, but only in high RPM above 5K it takes off pretty fast at speed.

Again, the real big difference is handling. Even with the stock 16inch wheels the WRX handles better. The S4 dives and rolls like a bastard in turns. It also doesn't have 50/50 power so it archs up on a launch.

Don't hate me I now have 6100 miles, 2 oil changes already. Since I put in 120 miles a day mileage goes up really fast

Also did the tranny at 6000 using redline 75W90NS and rear diff using 75W90 and put in the K & N. So far so good.

Just a little smoother, but reverse still a bit** to engage. If the rex got the GSX tranny feel we would have the perfect car Actually some ppl say put it in early so it get used to it. I figure 6K is long enough for the watery stuff they have in there.
