Yeah I Own a solara and I am awaiting my supercharger, for some reason that car hauls up top, Yes the stick is a dif story a buddy of mines ran 15 flat with just suspension mods. I believe him cause the rex is not as strong up top as from a stanstill. On a sidenote could some of you guys come to MD. to teach these guys how to drive the WRX cause at the track these 3 stick drivers were 14.9 and 15.1 all day long.....

From what I hear, the manual trans can handle it. I've heard of a few probs from auto trans sc cars, though.

I got mine for $2500, and the local Toyota dealer charged me $400 to install it. I've heard of them selling for less, and for more. You can install them yourself, but then it's not covered under the powertrain warranty.

So what parts are involved in WRX Stage 1,2,3...?

Of course getting the power to the ground with an open differential is the hard part, nonetheless, low 6's in the 0-60.

I think in all likelyhood that the subie was caught off boost and in the wrong gear...and once it was on he prolly was in catch-up mode. This happened to me on a test drive of a subie once when I followed a dropped Saturn (of all things) that had an exhaust as we made a left turn. He jumped on it and I was already in second loafing along....I thought for a second and said ah what the hell and went in pursuit. But that second of hesitation plus me being in second gear at low RPM put me at a great disadvantage. I started to pull him in but he was already on the cam in his powerband. Not to take away anything from the other car, but there's plenty of variables that can make a turbo car good fodder.

Yeah, I'm on Camryman sometimes.
I agree, the open differential/front wheel drive sucks. I have to really baby it in first, or I get spin and wheelhop. If I'd run that black WRX from a dead stop, I'd have seen only tailights.

This is a very believable story. I saw a black supercharged Solara run a mid 13 at English town about a year ago (don't know what else he was running other than his nice sounding 'charger), and we all know the WRX (unless it's fairly heavily modified) isn't a car to do races from a roll. Good kill (although it wouldn't have taken me, hehe), and what sounds like a real nice car to boot.
