New Cobra vs. My WRX...kinda

New Cobra wanted to race me today....I rolled down the window, so did he (and his buddy...both were grinning)...and I said "I know better"....they laughed and moved on....

Like many things in life...know your (or your cars) limitations...

C'mon man! One bad launch and the Cobra would have been seeing Subie tail lights...at least up to 50mph or so.

Seriously, last time at the track there were a few, um, supercharged Ford vehicles running poorly because of traction. A certain pickup comes to mind especially.

Uh... The STOCK 03 Cobra can pull a 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. The "SCooby" is like 5.5/5.4 seconds? Unless the guy smokes them he will slaughter you.... Even with a bad launch...

I still woulda tried! Just so you can see what the Cobra can do...

And a "227"whp WRX can do 0-60 in <4.8 seconds. I'm assuming he post about his mods are true. All it takes is less than a second of reaction time aganist two cars which can travel <5 seconds 0-60 to make a huge difference.

I should have clarified...we were rolling at about 25mph, and I had my infant son in the car....so if I was alone, maybe I would have tried it....but rolling is tough against a new Cobra...

But I am still a real man!....ha.

Ahh, I see now. A roll would have been ugly - barring a misshift, perhaps. But off the line Cobras screw up all the time. Hell, I'd launch my Acura and see what happens.
