    Smile cops & trucks.....

well funny thing about reading threads... today a red dodge truck does a no stop at a light pulls out in the near lane, thought he was coming over into mine... well right after i pass him.. due to a car in front of him he decides he's going to ride my ass a little.. so i run it through 2nd and shift into third and then the BELL 535i starts to go off.. so i let off easy on the brakes... what do i see up ahead.. hello mister cop'er...... the truck driver looking at me smiling, thinking he's got me fails to look as he passes a car in the turning lane cause he can't get by me..car in left lane me in right...but the cop sees him...cop does a slow turn around..truck driver still not looking coming up to a stop light cuts into the turning lane again to pass a couple more cars..guess he finally saw the cop coming...now the cop pulls up behind me i guess to run the plates... goes around me pulls up to the truck waits for him to start moving.. then the lights... i bet this guy is pissed now... gota love them radar detectors......
    it's stock really....

The current top of the line detectors are great but.....

I have... or I should say... USED to have( ) an Escort 8500 RD, which was a great piece of equipment and saved me countless times. Unfortunately, it was confiscated by the cops a few weeks ago after they detected it.

Now, I know that the 8500, BEL 950, and V1 are VG2-proof, but they are NOT immune to Spectre, which is what the cops are using to pick up RD's nowadays. The annoying part of the whole thing was that the cop was not scanning for radar, so my RD did not go off... I was absolutely flabagastered when I noticed the unmarked car drive by me, and then pull a u-turn as soon as he passed. That was the same piece of equipment that they used to knab me wih my 8500, as well as my other friends who own.... or I should say... USED to own Valentine 1 units. I found this out the hard way, and will go to court in a few weeks to attempt to get my fine for driving with an RD reduced...

I just thought I would throw this out there for those who are considering getting an RD in an area where they are illegal. Make sure that if they are illegal where you live, you pick up a unit that is invisible to BOTH VG2 AND SPECTRE.

I just found this pic today, and I've been whoring it:

I get a semi-chub just looking at it.

I just got a V1 last week and was impressed that I had about a mile of warning on the freeway for one cop. It's my second coolest mod (after the UTEC).
Current mods on my 2003 Silver WRX: Autospeed Flex Uppipe, Perrin Downpipe w/cat, TXS UTEC, Goodrich Stainless Steel Brake Lines, TXS HPBC [15.9 PSI]. Valentine One. Tuned by God. Silencer Free.
