    MY02 WRX -vs- 350Z 1/4 mile --Video--

I went to the drag strip last night and raced a stock 350z and a modded Eagle Talon TSi and beat then both.

The 350Z was very, very close. I was ahead of him the entire time but at the end he caught up and almost passed me. I talked to him afterwards. I told him "It looked like you kicked in some NOS at the end there, you caught up so fast" and he said "It felt like you were braking at the end there, cause I caught up so fast".

    I ran a 14.65 @ 91.85 (I need to work on launching and shifting)
    He ran a 14.84 @ 95.76
    Here is the Video!

Here is the video of me -vs- the Talon TSi
Sorry, no times for this one.

They didn't print out time slips, so I don't know my 60' and 1/8 mile times.

Nice run. That 350z sure caught up fast at the end. What type of launch did you do? Slip the clutch?
Now to watch the 2nd video....

Looks like fun, I wonder if there is a track in my area. In NJ where I use to live there was(Englishtown).
I bet you were all excited to beat both cars. Times seem a little off for the mods you have. Probably with better launching and shifting you should get a 1/2 sec more our of her.

I did a slip clutch launch from somewhere in between 4-5000 RPM.

I have a gutted uppipe and 3" custom turbo-back. I though I should be around 13.9-14.2, but I guess I'm being to nice to my clutch and tranny. Can you blame me?

Your running stock boost? If so, you should try running an HPMBC with a little more boost that stock and you should be in the mid to high 13s easy.

I'm actually saving up for AccessECU Stage 2 reflash.

Your video is a good example as to why trap speeds are a better figure to go by sometimes. You obviously have the launch advantage, hence you got out of the hole quicker and a lead. His car has a higher trap speed and he really started to reel you in. Its a great video actually, perfect for explaining that to some people, as your video man made sure to catch both times and speeds in the video. Thanks for posting. Great job.

Thanks! I actually told the camera man (my nephew) that if he did not do a good job he would have to walk home after I kicked his a$$.
