Nice looking car, but that sure as hell doesn't sound like any "big block" I've ever heard

Yeah, but it does have the lumpy idle like a big block with a huge cam

Whoa I love how the turbo was spinning at idle. That looks like one mean machine. I'd love to see it in action

Is that the nature of the engine or is it my sound cause the engine didnt sound like it was to happy to be running. It sounded like it was a very ruff idle and not smooth even when he fed it dome gas, although it did sound awesome out back. And is it safe to run the turbo without a filter? That could do some serous internal damage.

From what I've read, doing a street port on a rotary is like adding huge cams to a normal engine. The timing of the ports is controlled by the passing of the rotors. When making these ports bigger you are giving them more breating cababilites as well as adding lots of duration that the intake ports are open.

It may not sound healthy, but from what I've read, that is the normal sound form doing a huge port job

I'm guessing they only took the air filter off for the vid.

rough idle or not, i'm pretty sure that rx-7 would kick the crap out of most of the cars here.

good thing, they're not imported here anymore.

our turbos spin at idle too. I believe they all do. Just don't spin fast enough to create boost.

    I love that rotary rumble!/grumble.
