Nice kudos from the M5 owner. It's always a pleasant surprise to find WRX threads on other boards where its actually a discussion and not a contest of kicking each other in the balls.

surprising to actually hear a bimmer driver admit he was smoked by anything other than another bimmer, honest guy, and by the way, congrat on the kill.

Nice! The M5 pulls like a locomotive at any speed - fun cars. I wonder what it would take for a Rex to keep up with one at higher speeds (since the Subie can take it off the line and probably up to around 60mph with a TXS Stage II - just guessing)? When I was in the Bimmer, it seemed like one of those cars, like other BMWs, Mercedes, and Porsches, that could run at 140mph all day without complaint. Impressive.

What is really scaring me is that the next M5 supposedly has 500PLUS HP..... I am really curious to find out what the "plus" will end up being.......

    Can you say 4-door Viper?????

    How about the MB 600? 490+ HP from a twin turbo V12. 0-60 in 4.3, 1/4 mile in 12.6...

    All in a full-sized sedan.

Can you say 500+ HP, ~9000 redline? I'll take that over a 4-door Viper any day of the week! (Ok, maybe the Viper on an occasional weekend

Holy frijoles! That thing is an animal. Why the 155mph governor? Boo. It could probably hit 185 or so without it. And imagine the 1/4 mile - probably low-mid 12's stock. Whoah.

That's just amazing! A production car kept up with a 500 hp rice burner...classic. I'd love to own one someday

BTW I see you're from Houston, and you're new. Welcome and be sure to check the Texas forum for meets and shop days
