Toyed with a Mustang GT tonight.....

I was coming home from dinner with some friends after work today (I hate working Saturdays) when a newer bodystyle silver Mustang merged in front of me on the interstate. At first I couldnt tell if it was a GT or not so I crept up a little to get a better look and sure enough, it was. It looked totally stock so I wasnt going to waste my gas but as I was passing him I heard him downshift...

At that point I was in 5th doing maybe 80 so I decided "what the hell, I'll just kind of roll into it and not downshift...." Needless to say, he started to pull but by very little. By 120mph he was about a car ahead of me. Ok, time to put this guy in his place

He lets off and we coast for awhile until we are both side by side pacing at 70mph or so. At this point Mr Mustang downshifts and hits it again, expecting to pull on me..... but not this time! I blipped the throttle and downshifted into 3rd for just a second (enough to fly by him) and proceeded to take 4th gear to about 135 at which time he was waaaaaay back there. I'm talking buslength distance. I thought that was enough and aparently so did he because he stayed far behind me until my exit came up.

Chalk one up for the goodguys!

Nice! Curious as to what times you are getting with the newer setup?
