there are a lot of manufacturers that give "hot" models to the testers. the main method seems to be internal parts coatings. thermal coatings on the pistons, and combustion chambers are known to add up to 30 hp, with no other mods! even more with alum. heads! (i.e. most imports)

The average 1/4 for the 350Z is NOT 13.8. More like 14.1-14.2.

Both the STi and the EVO vs the Z from a roll to 100MPH, the Z is going to lose. Past 100 is when the Z will gain crazy because the gearing on the STi and the EVO are for 1/4th/rally runs and fall on their face at high speeds.
