sweet, yea i mean the racing...the price i saw on the website yesterday. so they just have to go through the checkpoints? i was reading one of the past winners did 3000miles in 5 days... thats not that great of time, but i guess its because you have to stay back for events and stuff at each location?

    www.houston-imports.com/forums

    search for gumball

cost about $12k USD just to enter. excluded fines, gas, and other expenses.

12k includes stay at nice hotels, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and parties and little goodies.

A friend of mine is in it. They are taking a Shelby Cobra (red) to the race. Too bad it is a kit car, but still as far as I know they are out there in the mix of things. Here's his site:

    www.biggumballs.com

A local Washington D.C. morning DJ sponsored him. I am very jealous. If anyone finds a picture of a red Cobra among this year's Gumball 3000 photos, let me know.

i guess not, there was a mustang GT in the rally. and his non-functional scoop was coming off too, so they stopped and duct taped it down and placed a big Gumball3000 sticker over the whole thing.

keep in mind just because you have $12k to shell out doesn`t mean you`re ok to run, you actually have to apply and they decide wether they want you and your car or not... i was just talking about this the other day, it must be nice to own a $200,000+ car, be able to import it to the US for a week, pay $12k to put stickers all over it and stay in nice hotels/ parties, get caught for doing 150+mph, i`m sure they pay atleast $200/tire when they need new ones, which i`m sure is pretty often, fill the gas on those beasts (especially in florida in the like where premium is almost $3/gallon), and then be able to fly it back to europe and go about daily life again... i think there was a story about one car where they wrecked, and as soon as the car was sitting still they got on their cell phone and called in a truck to bring their other car

also, its not a race, its a rally, there for you speed at your own risk
