Also, do you guys think I should buy a tranny cooler before I race him?
I heard that will allow me to torque break for more than 10 secs?

I believe it's braking while gassing to "launch" but i'm not an Auto(matic) guy. They have tons of power (any AMG) but i would want a manual, all there is to it (or a paddle shifter).

ok... here goes. first of all, if its an AMG, go hide behind a rock. its gonna eat u alive. most like it isnt, because, well there rare and expensive. anyhow, you want all the performance that you can get out of ur car, race from a stop. brake torque for 5seconds TOPS. by brake torquing, press on the brake with you left foot as HARD as u can, and lightly press on the gas with your right, at you will be able to race your rpms to about 2200rpms without moving, at that point, let off the brakes and mesh the gas all the way down immediately. You will get a much much better take off this way.

good luck and tell us what happens.

    Agreed, cry in a corner.

I was right on brake torquing what an overly complicated name

Usually when i brake torque, i rev it in neutral while pressing on the brake then i start to brake torque and can build the revs to about 3k. SHouldn't that be alot better than a 2.2k launch??

So even with a tranny cooler torque braking past 5 secs is bad??

oh and btw its not amg.........thank god

That's a long time to brake torque. A cooler will help, but don't count on it for brake torquing too too long.

Sounds like you got the technique down:

    Foot on brake.
Go to neutral, give a couple of revs, brake pedal will go down more.
    Put it in Drive.
Just before the cross traffic light goes to yellow (or just before the 1 2 3 count), left foot on brake, right foot on gas and watch rev's rise to 2500-3000 rpm.
Green light, release brake and floor it!

If your racing from a stop and have an auto, brake torque is a must.

Ummm....not to be a diss or anything, but isn't brake torque bad for your car? Or at least the transmission? Because you're basically forcing the engine to spin IN GEAR while also forcing your wheels at halt, right?? Just wondering.....

Look, stop worrying about that car just remember if has a logo of AMG on it then it'll flip your wig. But if its an ordinary SLK heh, make sure to spank him and also tell him to go to his room after the race.

Mercedes brought out the muscle-bound, AMG-fortified SLK32 for 2002. The SLK32 AMG brought 349 horsepower to the party by way of a supercharged 3.2-liter V6, its considerable might shipped to the rear tires via a tweaked "SpeedShift" five-speed automatic gearbox.

hmmm... 349 hp in that little of a car... your right its COMPLETELY impossible. Do some reasearch before you decide to be a schmuck next time...
