had fun with a GN!! amongst other things

every time i go to hickory, nc i get into so many races. in three hours i raced a 94 accord with nitrous. a 97 or so mustang with cut off mufflers, a silver stock wrx, a 93 mustang 5.0, a hatchback with a b16b CTR motor in it, a turbo beetle, and the good one, a modded GN!! it was very loud, exhaust and intake for sure. possibly a bigger turbo it took a while to boost up. we were side by side at about 40 mph and i was in second, we both kicked it and i had about a car and a half. after it boosted up it came back to my door and i lost a little ground when i shifted into third but after i was into full boost in third neither of us pulled anymore. i was really surprised at my car. i have ridden in many modded GN and they are silly fast and resopnsive to mods. a laggy giant turbo pays off sometimes i guess, all motor stuff always jumps you, esacially built v8's but reeling them in is fun!!

very nice blue02wrx. Did that 94 accord have some yellow stuff under the engine? Back when I used to drag race I lost to him like 2 times... pissed me off I was having a bad day and he thought he was the shizzy...... Each time he circled around he would rev his engine trying to show it off man it made me mad. Best he ran was a 9.4... I ran 9.2 stock... That day I missed second 1 time and I spun like hell the second time... man was i pissed......

i never saw under the hood...it was dark green i think or black...two younger guys 18 or 19 yrs old...

They are quick. In my last outing at the track, I raced a GN and it ran 13.2@108mph (I happen to have the timeslip in front of me).

G.N. = Buick Grand National. They stopped making them in 1987 I believe. They are notorious for being corvette killers, among other things. I have seen three lay down over 650hp to the wheels. Think of them as an 80's version of a Supra (domestic) without the handling.

9.2 was in the 8th mile, not 1/4.

well thanks......i would have never guessed that. everybody just abbreviates the crap out of words i don't know and i am stuck trying to figure it out, like POS (I still don't know what that means!)

to my friends, GN stands for "good night" but i scratched that off my list

anyways.......thanks again for clearing this stuff up for me
