How do you change your oil "more precisely"? You either change it or you don't, right? I mean, what precision do you need? Aiming the oil at the filler hole?
You can't judge a rotary engine by the 3rd gen. RX-7 twin turbo. That was a nightmare of vaccum lines to put two turbos and a bunch of gizmos on the rotary and still make it pass emissions.
Look how many 1st gen RX7's are being raced in SCCA Club Racing today with hundreds of thousands of miles on them.
This new "Renesis" rotary is a lot more efficient also.
drizze99, "Wankel" is the name of the inventor of the rotary engine. The word "wankel" is used to describe the type of engine, just like saying "rotary engine" (like a piston engine being describe as an Otto cycle engine).
"Renesis" is the name that Mazda is giving to this new rotary engine. Kind of like Subaru naming the new STi motor the "Shirley" or something. It's marketing gimmick.
