I ran a turbocharged Prelude from a roll. He had a few cars me when we started and the WRX consumed him. I had more mods than a BOV then (which does nothing for performance) but not as many as I have now.

I call BS on the post in the prelude forum unless the WRX driver was plain awful. Races aren't just between cars. Drivers make a huge difference.

Remember Prelude has all the bolt-ons and WRX had just BOV.

I read all the comments on that page and I have no doubt that a Prelude with that kind of modification would at least hang with (and probably beat) a stock WRX from a roll like that.

I call BS on is the dudes who think: (quoting from the actual thread over there)

It seems that we own them from the top of 3rd gear through 5th.
Show me a stock Prelude "own" a stock WRX from third through 5th gear! Please. Show me a Prelude with $2,000 in mods "own" a WRX with $2,000 worth of mods. It aint happening! I recall several times when I was stock running into stock Preludes on the highway and walking away from them. This is from rolls of 60mph to 120mph.

I'd also like to meet up with the guy that has the JRSC that claims he eats WRX's for breakfast. That's like me claiming I eat Corvettes for breakfast just because I can beat a stock Vette. What a moron.

On the flip side, there are a few that arent total idiots. Like this guy

They are AWD so launching is their high point. From a roll they aren't quite as fast, but still pretty quick. Once they open the engine up a little and raise the boost, don't even bother racing from a roll or a stop unless you have more than bolt-ons.
Too bad they charge money to register over there or I'd tell them on their own board. Anyone registered over there?
