When I first bought it I loved:

-the "mean" look (the one that makes girls not like the car)
    -AWD
    -Mod potential

After a VF39, EWG, TMIC, PPG and TBE upgrade I love:

-that for under 30 grand total I have a really fast car
-hitting ~62 in 2nd gear while my straight cut gears are screaming louder than a fire engine and my exhaust sounds like an apache helicopter on assault even though I can't hear either of them because the external wastegate sounds like the commencement of armageddon
-almost 400 wtq on a freakin sedan
    Car-less

WRX was/is the best bang for the buck. I wanted something AWD and, prefferably, turbocharged.

why this is in wrx vs the world and not general discus or off topic i dunno but sence its not. ill put my 2cents in

    pros

    500whp stock bottom end/tranny
    m3 handling with acr package
cheap to buy, cheap to mod.
its a neon so no one ever sees it coming. there usually to busy laughing or pointing and then its to late.

    cons

    terrible turning radius
feels rough all around in fit and finish and steering wheel feel/gearbox
need lots of finese and practice to drive fast
    its a neon
    its fwd
    single piston front brakes
no cruise, no rear power windows.

No wonder your STI is so fast...it has once of those i4's in it. Mine only has a h4.
0-60 faster then your first sexual experience.

Same here, almost, paper and pencil don't count as a spreadsheet, in this day and age...

Cars I was considering at the time:
Eagle talon tsi (or mitsu equiv) hoping for an early version, that car's interior fit me like a glove. No luck finding a decent used one.

RSX-S, nice car, shifts like butter, would have been paying out the rear for insurance.

Dodge stratus RT, good power, nice features, good incentives, drove real nice, but again, would have been paying out the rear for insurance.

Overall, the WRX was the hands down winner for what I could afford, and how I like to drive.
