06 STi vs. 00 Mustang GT

mustang had off road H-pipe, flowmaster mufflers, some intake plenum thing, and drag radials.

i bounced the tach needle around 5k, and we were off, slipped clutch a little too much and didn't get as good of a launch as i could have. he hung right there with me, and we were side by side. 2nd gear side by side. 3rd gear i started inching away. and 4th i started to pull pretty hard, to my amazement. i thought i was going to get roasted on the top end. good fun runs.

Not too surprising. Stock GT's make about 220 whp and those mods add only 10-15 whp on the stang, totalling it to ~235 whp. Assuming your stock, and a 20% drivetrain loss, you're making ~240 whp....very similar power and weight.
