CLIFFS FOR THE LAZY READERS:

1)driving down interstate in cobb stage 2 my04 wrx sedan.
2)Play with evo 9 from 75-125/130 mph
3)he just BARELY pulls on me, like half a car length I'd say.

Not a street racer, but will not turn down the opportunity to "play" from time to time.

Today I was headed to Percy Priest Lake to go sailing when I notice a greyish/charcoalish evo 9 MR approaching in the rearview.

He immediately starts doing the standard, rev and jump, then brake type crap, but rather than bite, I got him to roll down his window (on the interestate) and I complimented him on having a nice car.

Nod, "thanks." Rolls window up, we both hammer on the throttle, both at our relatively top power ranges already, and run from about 75mph - 125 and I was truly impressed that he was still just BARELY one car-length ahead of me.

Mods are simple, see sig. I was REALLY happy about the turn-out though, never dynoed my car, but other stage 2 drivers say it "feels" faster than theirs . . . dunno - anyway, it was a fun time.

Normally an Evo IX should put more distance on you, but stuff happens.

i believe it

i have dynoed several stg2 wrx's and stock evo9's on the same dyno. i have seen more than a handfull of stg2 wrx's put down the same or slightly more power than some of the stock 9's. on the other side, i saw one stock 9 dyno 260whp.

and for refernece, most stage 2 sti's dyno around 290whp on this dyno

my buddy's 9 put out 325whp and 325wtq on this dyno on straight 91 octane with o2 housing, ported and coated manifold, downpipe, high flow cat, cat back, lower intercooler pipe, bar and plate fmic, and a K&N filter in the stock air box, tuned by me with opensource

the most i have seen from a vf39 sti on this dyno was my room mates 06. he put out 317whp and 350wtq(it also held 300whp at redline

but that was running water injection(pure water, no meth or alky) APS TMIC, injen CAI, ported exhaust housing, ebay TBE, gm boost solenoid, helper spring on the wastegate and also tuned by me with opensource.

that car goes a little beyond a stage2 sti

the meet is open to all cars, but we mostly get subarus and evos. we BBQ and watch movies on the projector thats set up above the dyno. fun stuff
