I know this guy and he has a mkiv GTi (20th aniv edition) and everytime I see him, he talks **** saying how he'd beat me easily. As far as I know, he has a chip and exhaust. He says he's pushin like 220 crank hp and like 200whp.
I have a 02 wrx wagon with up pipe, dp and axel back. Stock wrx's are at 227hp , but i know hp doesn't always win races. I'm pretty sure I'll win, but i wanted your opinion also. Should I wait and get a XPT stage2 reflash? I'm assuming once im stage2, i should be able to take him from whatever scenario. Correct? Any input appreciated.

I owned a GTI and had it chipped, its fast....but stg2 WRX is teh faster

With your current setup you could win from a dig if you know how to drive... and you will lose from a roll.
With XPT stage2 will you destroy him.

Ya. I'm waiting for my tactrix cable to ship in. Once I'm stage 2 I'm pretty confident I can take him from anywhere.
As everyone said you will beat him off the line...VW's have trouble getting power to the ground....front wheel drive with no LSD = lots of wheel spin.

A buddy of mine has the aniv edition Jetta (wolfsberg or something of the such) he has TBE, em, and some suspension mods and stock i beat him by 2 from a 30 roll and stage 2 well he doesn't like to talk about it lets just put it that way
My last comment on the matter is Traction ftw
so i asked him if he wanted to race and he said no. i offered both from a dig and a roll, but he said he will only race something he will win against. smart guy
