C4 vs WRX

Interesting thread. Lots of opinions. Reminds me of some of the discussions we've had on here. It's odd the parities you see in online forums for two totally different cars.

In the end, we are all car people...that is what counts. If someone wants to cop an attitude...who cares. It's their's and they are welcome to it.

But I will say this. A wrx v a C4 would be a close race in the 1/4. Against an STi though...no way. Not even a "drivers race". But then, you would expect that given the power/weight and technology difference, so it is certainly nothing to brag about.

I just smile and wave as I receive my timeslip...and let the other guy make excuses. It's waaaay more satisfying that way

I could see an argument on c-5/6's but a c4 vette? I'd love to see a c4 vette run against a stg2 wrx/sti on any course. Road course, drag strip, auto-x I dont think it would matter.

And resale value? You can pick up most c4's in the 8-10k range....sure they have been out awhile but that isnt great resale value in my book considering what they sold for new.

I just want to point out that the same elitist attitude that we are making fun of on the corvette forum is the attitude being taken by many in this thread when we say that "all C4 owners" have this attitude.

Most people that own cars DON'T post on forums. So to say that this group generally has an attitude is not fair.

I own a 2006 TR and it has been protuned to 331 whp with a VF39.

Once my PPG gears are in, I hope to get an 11 second pass with essentially a WRX with an STi block, turbo and IC.

But in no way do I think my car is the fastest ever.

I also love corvettes with a passion and would probably murder my first born child for a Z06 (the new 505 hp one)(in yellow) and I can respect all other cars as well.

Every car has it's advantages and its pitfalls.

I hope we don't sink to the level of those in question by now attacking "all" corvette owners.

As you can see by my sig I own a WRX and a C4 corvette.

I love both cars as they have completly diiferent personalities.

Not all c4 owners or corvette owners for that matter are jerks.

My C4 WILL beat an STI by the way.

Two things:

My vette is set up for bracket racing. Very consistant.
I compete in SuperChevy, MSD True Street, and NHRA Summit Series.

I am also installing a three stage N20 this summer, good for 9's as well.

However it's not in now so those 9's are just just woulda, coulda for the moment.

haha, only problem is getting that much into a WRX. Getting a 9 second C04 is not as hard as it would be for a 9 second WRX.

I would have to say the people that I dislike the most are the stuck up BMW drivers. They act so high and mighty. (not all I might add) They are SO much worse then the bad muscle car crowd or the bad import crowd.

The Corvette collector crowd is pretty cool. My dad has a '67 Marina Blue Convertible and going to the car shows with it is quite fun.
