Pulled hard on an '03 or '04 350z on the highway!

I've been wanting to race a 350z for a while now that I've been stg.2.... well tonight I got my chance. It was a very young guy (probably about 20) in a silver one with his girlfriend in the car. It was definitely a 6MT... we started at about 80mph, I was in 4th. He got a pretty serious jump on me, but I pulled past him very quickly. I came up to him again and requested one more shot. We had a very even start this time from about 80-120...... I put about at least 5 carlengths on him.

if you don't believe this story, well then..... don't know what to tell you. My car is a beast now, as every other '06 stg.2 is ,I'm sure.

EDIT: maybe it was more like 4 carlengths, but nevertheless. He was definitely on it, he never let off until I did and he was definitely embarrassed... (I would be too, lol)

I gotta say, when I posted this thread, I was wondering what you, of all people were going to say. Thanks for the compliment, it means something coming from you.

As for power, I haven't been dyno'd, but I plan on driving up to chicago in a couple of months to get a pro-tune via DTR's referral.

My guess is about 230ahwp, about 280bhp.

After my protune, I'll be at least at STI #'s, I'm almost positive. Next up, vf34/sti topmount/protune!! Either that or a 18g... :drool:

I own a z and a rex, my rex has been faster since it was stage II, and is definitely faster with the vf34. If I don't end up trading in the Z in a year or two I'll likely go with JWT's or APS's TT setup. Nissan's got a few things coming down the pipe though, so I'll likely just trade up.... or, I could do the responsible thing and pay off my cars and buy a house... hard to race a house though.

Yeah for 70K I don't think I'd buy either I was just joking around. It'll be interesting to see how the next Z turns out though since it'll be more in the normal realm of pricing.
