They do make mods for those cars too. That a stage 2 STi barely eeked by one somehow makes it slow? They've got a rather healthy mod path limited only by budget. Intake, cam, full exhaust, along with a torque converter & shift kit can make it extremely potent, and that's before adding forced induction.
We know they're supposed to run ~ 13.1 @ 108-109 stock so if somebody sprays theirs and goes slower it isn't the car's fault. It's just like the guy who can't drive an STi out of the 14s all night - it doesn't mean the car is slow.
