Maybe it's just being from New York, but I know when people try to box you in, GET AWAY.

Guess you had to be there. I wasn't looking for trouble. They were the ones swerving into my lane trying to hit my car. I felt I was trying to protect my family by trying to get away and lose them.

I highly doubt the dangers of South Dakota are that extreme
When people box you in (particularly in other modded cars) they are trying to show off and be dumb. Best thing to do with family in the car is pull over and let them go about their day. Nothing else to it.

The point is not clearly the same. Hindsight is always 20/20, especially on the internet where people like you feel it's your job to point out the flaws in someone elses instinctual reactions.

He hasn't really posted up anything else about it so it's hard to tell, but if he felt that his family was in danger, who are you to judge the actions he took in order to protect them?

The semantics that shouldn't be argued are that him and his family are safe, so whatever he did, worked.

No one anywhere near me would box someone in to show off. Their only purpose would be to have the car stripped in under an hour and where the body ends up is of a lesser priority.

Same thing in Chicago. But again, in South Dakato I highly doubt a couple of modded ricers were boxing in a wrx to steal/strip it. More likely they are stupid and were just trying to show off, be cool, and felt they had something to prove.

i cant say i agree with you racing with the fam in the car but i also have to say if i felt my family and myself were being threatend, my response to that probably wouldnt have been "acceptable" either. I too have a very bad/short temper when it comes to idiots on the road.

I go to school in Newark, NJ and sometimes cadilacs and pimped out old school i don't even know whats filled to the brim with skeevy black men pull up right next to me and eye up my car. When that happens I hit the race map and fly out of there, and if my family was with me I'd do the same thing. (and would love freaking out my mom )

But that's in a city where murder is a misdemeanor. Anywhere else just ignoring the ricers gets the job done nicely. But every situation is different I guess. It sounded public enough a place you could of pulled over and let them drive off but maybe playing Transporter 2 was the right thing to do at the time. I dunno.
