the 07 WRX dynos at like 200whp? and the 07 SI at 180whp.
it shouldn't be that close, especially from a dig

Wingless alas. Too bad it took a 50 ton truck to make it happen.

Except that the Si weighs 300lbs less, has better gearing for higher end racing, traps similarly and makes power until redline as opposed to a stock wrx which dies off after 5.5k rpm's.
From a dig is no question, but I have seen a few stock or very lightly modded rsx-s/si's take stock wrx's at higher speeds. WRX should have the win, but I wouldn't get too confident.

The WRX has turbo gearing. That's completely different than an n/a s/u... and we all know that a dp/up will fix the dying hp up top. Lightly modded cars should not be compared to stock cars anyways, as a lightly modded (meaning a few mods ex: stg2) WRX would beat any stock honda currently made if they were the right mods. See how futile it is to argue modded vs unmodded?
As far as rsx-s/si's taking WRX's stock... that should not happen. If it does, turbo's not your thing and you need to learn to drive.

IMO, you got the better car. AWD and turbo. Your car will respond better to mods and handle better in rainy/slick conditions. I had an Si before getting my WRX and I'm so happy about my choice to go with the Subie

without a good launch the WRX is easily a 15 second car, and it's much easier to launch a torqueless Si correctly, so be careful.
on the highway it depends how fast you wanna go. 4th and 5th gear are too tall, so at speeds of 90+, it could just be the Si.
embattled, we prevail...only victory exhaled.
There's at least a 30 hp diff. between an '07 Si and an '07 Civ. Si, so there really should be no contest. The new civ. si is rated at a 14.9-15.2, so there's really no comparison, considering stock '06 Subies, with a good run can dip into the 13s. I personally don't give a crap about highway runs, but I'm also fairly sure a new WRX would steadily pull on a new Civic. Bottom line. The older wrx's might be a diff. story, I dunno...
This tech. at my work has a new Si coupe. We messed around a bit, from a dig up to like 60/70mph, I took him by like 3-3 1/2 cars. From a 35 mph roll to like 75 I had him by 4 cars. He might have been in too high a gear. Honda=lil torque. He does know how to drive very well, but racing he may not be the best. Needless to say you will take down that Si. I am modded: cat-less UP, Catless TBE, Sti I/C with samco hoses, Ported elbows, ported TB, Ported exhaust manifold, snorkle delete w K/N filter, but no EM yet![]()
P.S. I'm an '02
Are you guys from LRAFB? If so, I'm there too....![]()
