    BMW 325ci dinan stage 1 vs a 05 WRX

Ok so my very spoiled friend who got a brand new 04 325ci got a 3500$ dinan stage 1 kit which was exhaust intake and a strut bar, that suppossedly added 10-15 hp to the crank. He claims that his car is now just as fast if not faster than my 05 wrx which only has a hks hi power exhaust and a aem short ram intake. I tried to convince him that 3500 was way to expensive for just bolt on mods, but he insisted in telling me that dinan was the best parts ever. He refuses to race me on a track cause hes worried about his car getting messed up, or maybe hes just in fear of getting his ass kicked. So can u guys leave some feedback on what u think is faster so i can humble him a little from his spoiled world

Moved to WRX vs. the World.

You should post up at a BMW site. It would be interesting see what they had to say.

this is some info on the dinan chips
    http://www.dinancars.com/Series.asp?...0&Model=6#2036

I believe his car if manual is a low to mid 15 second car, the stage 1 does not seem to do a whole lot, so he is probably still in the low 15s, high 14s with a perfect run, i don't think you should have trouble beating him if you can drive your car properly.

Here are some numbers i found on a bmw msg board

    15.3 325ci 5-speed

    15.000 @93.7

    15.000 @93.7, 60ft. 2.245, 1/8th. 9.685....sooo close!

I would say from a roll it would be a very close race though.

yea he has a 5 speed man, i mean ive driven it, its a smoothe right easy shift, but it just feels way heavy, even the doors when u open/shut them, feels like lifting wights. But he believes the Dinan has made his car awsome when i felt he got ripped off with bolt ons for 3500 bucks, and it was mainly for the dinan badge too probably. What do u guys think, is dinan a rip off, or is it actually legit?

Yeah, they make nice, "legit" stuff. But holy crap is it expensive. A friend of mind what an M3 bought a similar kit for some unholy amount of money...something like $6,000 for a few bits and pieces.

EDIT: look on their webpage. We're talking $10,000 for 25hp with some kits on the 3-series. Lunacy, IMO.

    Hypathetical situation

Ok this is a hypothetical situation, At a race track there is a 04 subaru wrx, 04 rsx type s, 04 sentra se-r specv, and a 04 bmw 325ci, if these cars are all stock, who would win the 1/4 mile from first to last, and who would have the best 0-60 time from first to last. Please give me ur feedback, and shall see who would win the race!
