I guess it's just a more "colorful" way of saying no to an unreasonable request.

Your's was certainly a more concise way, then mine, of communicating a similar sentiment.

Race him, you'll take him. I just took one in a 06 wrx, no real high impact mods but cat back, and i had a lousy launch.

haha, all this mess and nobody actually answered the question...

WRX (AWD owns and most powerful)
RSX Type S (good power, VTEC)
325i (some decent power, rear wheel, but heavy as hell)
SpecV (some power but good tranny, heavy and FWD just doesn't cut it)

...those are my guesses off the top of my head...

    224fhp-wrx
    200fhp-Type R
    187fhp-325i
    180fhp-SpecV

numbers are as accurate as I can recal as well...

I would not call BMW 325i heavy as hell as it has a curb weight of 3285 . For a luxury car, that is pretty light, it also has about 215hp

It's not about the cost... it is about the car.

If you can afford a BMW, and then you decide you can afford to Mod it, than cost is not so much an issue.

Owning a BMW is expensive, once the warrantee runs out. Everything needs to be done by the dealer, and that aint cheap.

I am sure it is a lot easier to get a WRX to outrun a BMW... but that isn't always the point I think...

Go smoke your friend... educate him... but remember that he is STILL driving a BMW... and most chicks could give a **** about speed...

Stupid question but how much does the average wrx weigh these days?

The 325 is a great car just has different priorities.

I thought BMW 3 series is about being sporty and luxury, so performance is definately in mind in this sports compact. The 3 series is supposedly used as the standard for sport compact cars.

the new WRX are around 3192

Yeah the BMW definitely has good performance I didn't mean it wasn't performance minded. What I meant was it's less about straight line all out power (ie. 1/4 mile racing as the op refered to) and more about the whole package and over all balance of the car. It handles well, has decent power and its luxurious.
