I think something else to take into consideration here is that it was from a 60mph roll.. don't AWD cars lose a decent amount of power at higher speeds?

I think the floor mat was stuck behind the gas pedal.
I know the WRX isn't super quick--but against a escort GT come on.
I use to beat Ford escort GT's with my 2002 civic si which i thought was slow. The Civic Si was spanked when racing 02-05 WRX. The 06-07 Wrx would even spank it more.
