It could be a 14 second car, or it could be an 11 second car... If you've got $100 burning a hole in your pocket, use it to find out.

if he ONLY has those mods it might not be making that much. intake and headers help but not like on an FI car with exhaust. if thats all it has u might beat him, i thin kthe hp in cars in those times wasnt great. muscle cars kinda went downhill after 1970. if its built he could go bye bye. id put money on you.

    +1

Sure, he's told you what he's done to it, but what you don't know is it's running 12.5:1 compression, race gas, crazy huge cam, and trick ported heads. With muscle cars it's what you can't see that will kill you. I'm not saying it's going to be fast or not, but you won't konw until you line up with him.

My first car was a 1977 Z28, which would be the same car as your co-worker's. Stock to Stock you will beat him. I dont see how you could say he has an intake, all you ever did with that car was put a 14" K&N filter on it. If its a 1974 being 32 years old, I would say that the motor was redone, and for the same price you can put bigger pistons in it and go from 8.5 stock (189WHP) to 10.0:1 (300WHP) for the same price. I would say with a good launch you would have him, but if he has done anything to it which I am guessing he has since he wants to put $100 on it to make you feel like in his eyes a "stupid ricer" vs him "dont mess with redneck America"

I would be worth a run to see what he has, but I dont know if its worth $100.

So that would tell me it was a stock motor that was never rebuilt. Nice one. Typical thing, he thinks that since his car is loud from pipes, he is thus faster.

    NOT!!!!
