Cobb Stage II 05 WRX VS Stock 02 WRX

This is just an example of how anything can happen on the street and how little difference there really is in the real world racing. My friend just recently got an 02 wrx bone stock, i have a cobb stage II 05 wrx, we fool around all the time and the cars are pretty damn even from any speeds under 70mph, i don't pull on him much at all, maybe a half car at the most, even sometimes if he gets the jump a split second before me he will hold me off from a 20-70mph roll. Now I am sure you are saying there is something wrong with my car, but we both took our cars to the track and i ran a best of a 13.9 with my best trap speed being 99.6mph, his best was a 14.7 with his best trap being 91.6 mph. So when someone says they raced a car and beat it that is a good .8 seconds faster and traps a good 8mph faster such as an LS1 or something, i don't find it totally unbelievable because in the real world on the street those numbers are alot closer then they appear on paper. Someone gets a split second jump (i.e. .8 seconds) and they are dead even with a car that is well .8 seconds faster.

That's suprising for me as well. I beat my brother's SRT-4 at any speed (as a form of comparison to your situation). We even tried that I would have 2 passengers just for the heck of it and still managing to inch from 1/4 rear panel of his car to nose-to-nose.

I got walked badly, as if I'm in reverse when I was stock! But I agree, anything can happen on the streets!
I might be back in the market for the new STI sedan!

That's all it takes. Now you have to make that up by reeling them in all while eating up the distance. Consider it bracket racing for the street.

could just be that your car wasn't running at its best at the moment u were racing. I don't know how to explain this, but some days my stage 2 feels faster than other days.

No we do it all the time, we race a little each week, what people don't understand or don't think about is that 8/10ths of a second is basically nothing unless its an organized race with a light and whatever. Count to 1 then think its even shorter then that, its so easy for someone to get 8/10ths a second of a jump without even noticing really.
