What do you think about 2006 wrx with TBE and CAI against stock Porsche Cayman S? 1/4 mile and frumaroll. Any experience or suggestions? I think Wrx would be definetly faster on 1/4. I may have a race with Cayman S so I want to know what to expect.

Do it and find out and fill us in as to what the outcome is.
I might be back in the market for the new STI sedan!
A little random, but I just got back from the Porsche Driving Experience (www.porschedriving.com) and we got to drive the Cayman S a bit. Not too sure how it stacks up against an '06 WRX but I will say it handles like you wouldn't believe, even better than the Carrera according to several of the instructors (its mid-engine). So whatever you do don't take him on the twisties![]()
Well said. Although the odds are stacked in the Cayman's favor, you never know.Originally Posted by Me&05WRX

A WRX with exhaust and intake should be an easy kill for a Cayman S.
A better race would be an STi vs Cayman S. That would be a very good race. My new Mag (Road and Track) has the Cayman S going up against an EVO MR.
Cayman S - 13.2 @ 106 mph
EVO MR - 13.3 @ 103 mph.
WRX will get killed badly...

remember, stock 06 wrx's can run some high 13's, so it wont be too far from the porsche, if exhaust and tuned, it can probably keep up, but probably not for long tho
Some stockers are getting mid 13's in the 06 wrx. With your mods, you may be a similar quarter mile time with a slightly lower trap speed if you are good. If you took the intake off, you would probably be better off. Just put the stock box back on and get a k&n filter.
If you went cobb stage 2 you would likely beat him in the eighth, tie in the quarter or at least it would be very close, assuming good driving on both parts. He would def. have the advantage past 100 because of aero dynamics, so no roll ons![]()
If you went cobb stg 2 protuned with alky injection you would pull him anywhere this side of 120.

You can talk numbers all you want, but I have to believe that the driving experience between a Cayman S and a WRX of any vintage is going to be worlds apart.

Given equal drivers the Cayman S > TD04 wrx. 06' or not.

Given any stock to stock comparison the cayman S > wrx .
Purely performance speaking, you can make a wrx out pace a stock cayman s in any given situation, but the guy that loses still gets to drive home in a porsche cayman s

I thinkn the Cayman is getting a bad rap here. It will out handle the wrx, and in a straight line would give the average driver a run for their money. Few wrx's have posted 13.xx times, but the average is probaly in the mid to upper 14's. Porsche FTW.Originally Posted by StupidMan
