    From a roll, it depends on the speeds. The lower mph you start the roll from the better chance the wrx has... the faster you start you worse chance the wrx has. The S2000 is a 99/100mph trapping car with pretty good gearing.

    stock vs stock from your average roll it would be real close but I would give it to the S2000 over the wrx.

    This is for US S2000. European (kinda Japan) S2000 smokes 2006 WRX with TBE and CAI

    I raced an s2k off a light with niether one of us launching, and it got owned. First and Second gear on my car ended the race for him. He was trying to play catch up all the way through fourth. Moral of that story: my arm can produce more torque than an s2k.

    the 06s trap similarly to the s2000s now, they also make about the same whp, so it comes down to power to weight, gearing, and driver

    Up top they should take a 06 wrx, but wrx topend = a joke so that's really not saying much.

    I never have raced one in my WRX, but in my SRT-4 they lose.

    S2000 = traps 99-100mph stock
    06 WRX = traps 96-98mph stock
    02-05 WRX = traps 94-96mph stock

    Not quite.

    S2000 will regularly trap 99-101mph.

    The 06' wrx will regularly trap 96/97 (with two or three documented exceptions).

    As for making the same whp; yeah. However, the S2000 weighs about 400lbs less and has superior gearing. As I said earlier, from lower rolling speeds the wrx will put up a good fight because of the larger powerband and torque, but in the end the S2000 will reign... And if you start at higher speeds, the S2000 will hold the lead the entire time.
    But as BrianH said... Beating a wrx from a roll is nothing special anyways so it doesn't say much.

    What's the aerodynamic c.d. on those things (2000)? it can't be good.
    My car looks just like this without the skirts and roof wing! Yeah baby!

    It's probably lower than the WRX Cd.

    Don't be so sure. The new Saturn Sky has a c.d. of .43 and it LOOKS just as aerodynamic as an S2000. Aerodynamics is a funny science. Just because a car looks slippery, doesn't mean it is. Convertibles are horrible aerodynamically, and pointy rear ends are bad to. The design of the S2000's windshield doesn't help either.
