I am curious to see how they will get the sides of the roof repaired (the area between the raingutter and the door). Probably will have to body fill and paint.

my old prelude was caught in a hail storm for about 20 minutes. i was TRYING to get under a gas station but this big ass truck wouldnt budge to give me room

anyway, repairs were about 6k if i remember. Every panel had dents and the entire body had to be repainted.

Holy cripe, that sucks! Hard to believe but we had a freak hailstorm here in California a while back. The crazy thing is I have an 03 protege5 that got pounded as well. Insurance got me a brand new hood, new paint and repaired the roof. HAIL SUCKS A**! I was lucky enough that I did not own my WRX at that time, but thank GOD all that hail came before I bought it.

Truly we live parrallel lives. lol

Hail storms are very rare here in Indy. We get one about five years. The past year we've had three. Mostly small 3-5mm hail. Firday's hail was slightly smaller than a tennis ball.

Although I didn't have window damage, the window replacement chains around here are pulling people from their stores all over the midwest to make up for the extra work load. The only thing is they are running out of windows!

Hmm I wonder how the Subaru assembly factory (about an hour north of me) faired?

I got an estimate from the body shop. Its about $2400 + a new hood and trunk (another $1k).

The roof is too far gone to do paintless dent repair. Its fill and paint. The doors and panels are all PDR.

The trunk and hood I will replace with carbon fiber.

    Fixed!

I got a dent repair place to hook me up. The did a great job and let me pick my own hood! I chose the Seibon stock cf hood. I put the hood pins in a couple weekends ago.

I found out the thing about this red is it chips relatively easy and Subaru no longer makes touch up paint (since it was such a limited color). I had to fill in the chips with a similiar GM paint.

There are only a couple dents left to remind me of what happened. They are in the black strips going across the roof.
