Finally got a quick run against a Z

Well, been more than a year sice I got rid of my Z for the wrx and still really havent raced any, mainly because I dont look out for that type of thing.

But I guess Friday was different. I had just spent 4 hours at the doctor's office and saw the doctor for a whole 2 minutes! anyways, I was just minding my own business as I always do, driving in traffic since it was 4 pm by now.

From nowhere a red Z roadster flies by me but we have to stop at a light behind some cars. Traffic starts to move again and he starts to weave in and out again, but there's another red light. This time we are next to each other and I start to talk to the guy tell him I used to ahve one etc. Ask him if he wants to have a quick run and he says sure. Light turns green and I get a very good jump on him and shut down reaching 60 since this was a 45mph zone) with about 1-2 car length in front of him. He then asked me if I had anything doen to the engine and just told him I had an exhaust, which is pretty accurate. He then continued to speed off and stop at every single red light.

Hehehe...I'll come find you when I get my Z ('73 240z) done in a couple of years. The outcome won't be the same though, unfortunately for you!
2500lbs is a lot easier to make super fast than that pig of a 350z roadster.
Nice kill though. My friend has an '04 350 roadster. I took him for a ride in the STi on Super Bowl Sunday and he was dumbfounded. I would race him but he and I both know he would get torched.

haha, yea I know the 350z roadster isnt the lightest of cars, but it was fun nonetheless.

NICE kill! I always wanted to run one but never had the chance too.

Damn now I want to run one! So I take it the BASE model 350z is even slower? Argh I want run one now!

No. Except for in recent years with the new 300hp 35th anniversary edition, all Z's have had the same HP/TQ rating. In fact, the Base model Z is the lightest of them all (no LSD) and so is in theory the fastest in a straight line. However, go to a real race track and the LSD in and Brembos in the Track model take over.

300 HP at the crank? So I should be fine then. There prob putting down near same HP as me at the wheels "242" if not less id imagine?

Even if, I got 318 TQ and a launch im sure I would take one without any issues.
