Ford Focus RS -- UPDATE With Video

    http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...y-series-video

Re-rated to 350HP and 350 pound feet of torque.

I will look at the first edition, but I think that I would want a year of debugging before putting this on my buy list. Still <$40K with 350HP and AWD, does make me want to look.

I bought my WRX 2 months ago. Co-worker just preordered his RS this week. It will be interesting to see the comparison. Germany vs Japan, we'll see who comes out on top! teehehe (I'm sure I'll get owned).

    Germany?

I know the RS is a global brand but, Germany? Is it built there or something?

I know the "old" European RS was built in Germany. See here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qy-mhyUAaqE Ken Block's Hoonery is at the German RS factory.

Not sure where the this new American/Global one will be built though.

Yeah, the RS are built in Germany. The American version is also being built in Germany and being shipped here. For all intensive purposes it's a german car.

Im just not interested in a 40K car that will be worth 25K after a year, 20K after that, etc. etc. Numbers look good, but if these are built as terribly as the ST, then I just think it's another fanboy hype box.
I have an STi with an intake and no tune, I never change my oil, and my wheel spacerz are mad tyte.

If the depreciation is that steep, then that is why they have leasing.

Hmm... $40k for a Ford? Probably not.

I did find it interesting though, that in one of those videos all they could find at the pump was 95 octane and needed to use octane booster on top of that. I wonder what that means here in California where the most you can find is 91 octane. Was that high octane fuel only needed for the test engine, I wonder.

That doesn't mean anything. The reason they are trying to use that high of an octane is because it is a test engine, and they are trying to eliminate any ping problems that might arise with a non fine tuned engine.
